NORM Handling Services
Our licensed Radiation Safety Officers (RSO) excel in the handling of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM). NMIS manages the cleaning, equipment decontamination and soil remediation that is required at NORM sites, so your location can be restored to its ideal condition in a safe and environmentally conscientious way.

Onsite Waste Minimization with an Environmental Managed Pit (EMP) System

NMIS can help determine the most beneficial site design for waste and reserve pits, moats and other earthen structures. Multiple pits may be constructed for onsite treatment. After drilling begins, pits are monitored daily and bench testing is performed regularly as part of our EMP system.

Restoring the environment is part of our pit closure process in which the location is disked, leveled, and reseeded with native vegetation to restore and enhance the pre-drilling condition of the site.

Testing by NMIS further ensures that closure meets federal and state regulations. We are very proud of the excellent relationship we have maintained with both federal and state environmental regulatory agencies.

Landfarm / Annular Injection / Offsite Disposal of Pit Wastes

Certain waste materials are best handled through land farming or annular injection within state and federal guidelines. NMIS will help minimize the volume of waste to be hauled off, thereby reducing the overall cost to your project - both from an economical and liability standpoint. Any waste material that cannot be disposed of onsite, particularly, non-hazardous oilfield waste (NOW) can be transported to a permitted facility.
