Construction

For nearly half a century, our innovation with temporary roads and work sites has enabled builders and contractors to get their jobs done in all kinds of weather and over some of the most sensitive terrain on earth.
Our incredibly strong and versatile DURA-BASE Composite Mat System has provided jobsite access for the construction of stadiums, the renovation of historic monuments, the building of hospitals, the remodeling of commercial buildings and much more.
Some of the most impressive projects that have utilized DURA-BASE Mats include the hauling of a 400-ton German submarine through downtown Chicago, Illinois, as well as the heavy haul and replacement of massive steam generators at a nuclear power plant. In addition, our mats were utilized to build a heavy-duty lifting work pad for cranes in the historical restoration of the oldest Spanish fort in the United States. When 257-ton cranes needed access to a tidal march to perform pile-driving for a bridge construction, Dura-Base mats were there protecting this environmentally sensitive location while giving the cranes a stable work platform.
DURA-BASE Mats have also played a major role in recent disaster relief projects. After a tornado in Arkansas, 14 truckloads of mats were utilized in utility line restoration. And following Hurricane Katrina, DURA-BASE Mats provided access to sensitive wetlands to allow heavy excavators to retrieve boats that were tossed from the Gulf during the storm. In addition, DURA-BASE Mats have been utilized by an environmental contractor in New Orleans to remove massive mounds of debris after Katrina. Our mats enabled debris-filled trucks to follow a temporary haul route directly to the dump site – and were also utilized as spur roads from the main highway and staging areas around the debris pit.
Regardless of where your project is located, DURA-BASE Mats are the perfect solution to get the job done safely and efficiently. Contact Us today to discuss Dura-Base options for your next construction site.
